Why do you prioritize working with your own and locally grown flowers?

1. First of all, we love the growing process! We find so much joy in growing special gems that add personality to our designs. We love the challenge of working with what’s available seasonally to create something unique every time.

2. Using our own or locally grown flowers allows to use different varieties that may be unavailable, more expensive or may not ship well from other places.

3. It’s much better for the earth! By working with local farmers, we can minimize the carbon footprint that comes with importing flowers across the globe. All while supporting local Minnesota flower farmers.

Will you use flowers you’ve grown for my wedding or event?

While we can’t guarantee what will be growing and ready to harvest at the time of your event, we always strive to incorporate what we have available. We will use our flowers that best fit and enhance the look and feel of your event.

Are you a sustainable florist?

We strive to use the most sustainable practices in our business. We are a foam free studio. So, we do not use floral foam that contains toxic ingredients and is not biodegradable. Instead we use reusable mechanics in our arrangements and installations. We aim to create as little waste as we can in your event set up and tear down.

I want to use specific flowers for my event. Can you guarantee this?

While we understand specific flowers can hold special meaning to many people, product availability and quality may not make this possible. Our overall goal is to create a color palette and overall mood that you love. This includes flexibility in specific flower types, leaving room for local blooms and unique beauties that we grow or find locally.

Do you deliver and/or setup?

Yes! With our full service event option, we can deliver, set up and tear down your entire event. We will work with planners, vendors, and the venue to ensure everything goes smoothly for your big day.

If you choose our á la carte option, you can pick up your own floral pieces from our studio in Excelsior.

What is the meaning behind your name?

AlmaRose is a combination of the names of our two daughters. :)

Where do you find inspiration?

Jess, our floral designer, draws inspiration from natural settings and curated landscapes. She loves going to our local arboretum and wandering around. Seeing the way plants are paired together based on size, color, and texture can beautifully translate to floral design. We aim for a sense of romantic naturalism in our designs.

With a surface design background, Jess finds floral design to be a form of painting with flowers: building areas of texture and color to tell a visual story.
